Two of the largest custodians for registered investment advisors (RIAs), Charles Schwab and TD Ameritrade, were merging. The duo was dubbed "Schwabitrade" within the industry. This led to many uncertainties for RIAs who were clients of the two firms. It was a natural moment in time for RIAs to consider switching custodians. To capitalize on this, Betterment for Advisors needed content to communicate their value prop to the RIA market.
After conducting competitive research and working with the Betterment for Advisors team, I created a foundational piece of sales content.
Capitalizing on the industry's moniker for the two firms, I titled the piece Schwabitrade or Switch?
The content was designed for distribution as a blog or white paper to enable sales, both via social media and across the sales team.
